A training course specifically designed to give delegates a detailed knowledge base of the management of fire safety issues which will assist them when reviewing the fire risk assessments. This applies to management within company who have a responsibility for fire safety.

The aim of the industrial electrical maintenance course is to provide solid foundations upon which the participant will be able to build and develop. Emphasis is given to providing the necessary skills, which will allow the participant to carry out routine electrical tasks. It is also made clear that a participant needs to identify and know their own limitations, allowing tasks to be carried out in a safe manner, not giving rise to danger.

The Course is specifically designed for any person who is involved with working at height whilst using specific fall arrest systems and safe processes of work.

To equip delegates with a clear and practical understanding of how to develop, implement, and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) as part of a safe system of work, consistent with UK legal duties and proven good practice.

On completion learners should be able to understand why permit to work systems are used, the essential ingredients of an effective permit to work system and how to implement and operate the system as part of an overall control approach

This training course aims to provide information to aid competency and management system development on control of contractors and implementing the CDM Regulations 2015.At the end of the course, learners should be able to: Appreciate workplace risk and understand the moral, legal, and financial reasons for managing health and safety.Understand a simple control approach, based on the plan, do, check act approach to managing health and safety and developing policy arrangements.Understand the principles of controlling contractor activities, based on a simple 6 step approach and the role and function of CDM duty holders, such as Client’s, Principal Contractors and Designers.Understand the general principles of prevention duty holders should consider under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the CDM Regulations 2015.Understand the duty holders’ responsibilities under CDM 2015 and the need to appoint the right people and organisations at the right time. Appreciate the importance of ensuring everyone has the information, instruction, training, and supervision they need to carry out work in a way that secures health and safety.Understand why Clients, Contractors and CDM duty holders need to cooperate and communicate with each other when coordinating work.The importance of consulting workers and engaging with contractors to promote and develop effective measures to secure health, safety, and welfare.

To ensure persons either at risk or managing risk from dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres understand the regulations in detail, from raw material management, hazard analysis, area classification, equipment selection through to internal training, plant management and company policy requirements
