Syllabus

Initial client remote discussion to fine tune scope against needs, Provision of a formal report, photo's giving, basis of PUWER and identification of audited deviations and recommendation/Actions, aimed at the engineer on-site to learn from and how to address internally. Discussions to include: Who is the duty holder on site? Do they understand their responsibilities? Are there any notifications of failures or legal actions issued on any of the equipment? Are there any known failures / issues? Are all or any of the equipment installed and have UKCA / CE marking with supporting documentation? Bespoke machinery concerns – consider self-certification or an Incorporation certificate, What level of documentation already exists? Technical Files, EHS risk assessments, Has any of the machines undergone a HRN scoring risk assessment - what is the highest score risk identified. Are all hazards known and documented? Are there maintenance resources on site that support the equipment? Are records of inspections available? Was a risk assessment performed before each machine was put into use - is it documented? Does the site operate a documented Management of Change process? How intelligent is the workforce related to PUWER and Machine safety? - what experience. What type of equipment is in operation/designed? What type of control systems exists for safety - Guarding, interlocks, key exchange, SIL rated programmable systems HMI's etc. What Category level of safety systems are employed on site? Between 0-10 where 0 is none and 10 is complex and intelligent / no failures - what score would you give your site currently.
