Objective
To provide delegates with the key information needed to ensure that the water systems for which they are responsible are managed and maintained effectively, and in accordance with the relevant statutes and guidance.
Who should attend
The course is aimed at Responsible Persons, senior managers and other personnel whose responsibility is to ensure that engineered water systems are adequately managed and maintained. It focuses on the key areas of management responsibility, including record keeping and safe management.

No prior knowledge required. Delegates should have, or be about to take on, responsibility for the management of engineered water systems within their organisation.

Course overview
- A brief history and medical aspects of the disease
- Legislation and the requirements of HSC ACoP & Guidance L8 (Fourth edition) 2013 and HSG274
- Competency
- Responsibilities of all parties involved
- Risk assessment — what is a suitable and sufficient risk assessment? Where and when a risk assessment is required and when it should be reviewed
- Legal implications: case studies
- Interpreting maintenance records and test results
- Record keeping and the management of site records
Notes
All delegates will receive a training pack immediately prior to course commencement, which will include a copy of the course material. The course concludes with a short verification test.
